Our affiliations with the Machinery Dealers National Association (MDNA) and the Association of Machinery and Equipment Appraisers (AMEA) reflect our commitment to ethical business practices, professional development, and industry leadership. These partnerships not only validate our expertise—they also provide our customers with added confidence in the integrity, value, and accuracy of every transaction we facilitate.
MDNA
Members since 1981, Harris Machine Tools, Inc. is proud to be an active supporter of the Machinery Dealers National Association. The MDNA (www.mdna.org) is a nonprofit trade association whose members buy and sell used capital equipment, and was originally established in 1941 to assure buyers of the integrity and reliability of the used machinery dealers that are members of the association. The foundation of MDNA is its Code of Ethics. As a condition of membership, MDNA members agree to abide unequivocally by the terms of the Code and to renew this pledge annually. Harris Machine Tools actively supports the MDNA by giving its time and effort. HMT and MDNA are so synonymous, there is a Jean A. Harris Sr. Award named after our founder. The award is given in recognition of outstanding philanthropic contributions or efforts on behalf of the Austin D. Lucas Scholarship Fund and/or the MDNA.
AMEA
Established in 1983, the Association of Machinery and Equipment Appraisers (www.amea.org) is a nonprofit professional organization that accredits and certifies appraisers of machinery and equipment. Accredited appraisers must have a minimum of five years of buying, selling and appraising experience, while certified appraisers must have at least seven. Members must also be employed by a company that is a member of the Machinery Dealers National Association. The foundations of AMEA are its Code of Ethics and Standards and Procedures of Professional Appraisal Practice. The Standards and Procedures of Professional Appraisal Practice conform the Uniform Standards and Procedures of Professional Appraisal Practice as established by the Appraisal Foundation. Members of the Association of Machinery and Equipment Appraisers are individual machinery and equipment appraisal professionals who have demonstrated their proficiency through testing and peer review. Harris Machine Tools, Inc. has Certified AMEA Appraisers on staff.
